Granada, the largest manufacturer of secondary glazing products in the UK, has incorporated Yale’s Vertex™ wind-up spring balances into its brand-new product range.

The Yale Vertex™ spring balance is the perfect fit for this state-of-the-art range. It is a specially engineered helix rod that, thanks to its spiral movement, takes on up to 80 percent of the operational force – ensuring ease of opening with no sticking sashes for all users.

Zoe Grafton, Trade Sales Manager for Granada, comments: “As a business we have a drive to get things right. We’ve taken over 35 years of industry experience, along with months of rigorous research and development to make the most high-spec secondary glazing solution on the market today.

“We believe that our new range is a true gamechanger and are delighted to be able to have partnered with Yale. The Vertex™ spring balance has made a massive improvement, not to mention that Yale is a famous and widely trusted name.

“We are extremely impressed by the level of testing the Vertex™ range has endured, as this gives us confidence that we have chosen the best partner and reassurance that the balances will work with our windows for many years.”

Grant Stratford, Technical Director for Window Hardware at Yale, comments: “The Vertex™ range provides the ultimate solution for sash windows and we are delighted to be supplying Granada’s new product range.

“Following significant investment into several bespoke machines, the Vertex™ spring balance is designed and manufactured to the highest standard at our dedicated facility in Cheltenham. This not only means that we can ensure that functionality is second-to-none, but it also benefits our partners, like Granada, as we can react quickly to their requirements and they don’t experience any supply issues have any delays, (which they might experience if their supplies were coming from overseas).”

All Yale Vertex hardware has naturally been designed with security in mind and complies with the test requirements of PAS24:2016.

For lighter and smaller windows between 2kg and 18kg in weight and 200mm width and 1800mm high – such as those made of aluminium and secondary glazing vertical sliding sashes – the Yale Vertex™ wind-up balances have been tested to 10,000 cycles.

All spring balances are supplied in Ø15.0 mm tubes and are available in tilt-in and non-tilt options. Designed to require only minimal maintenance, the range is available in white, brown, black and grey tubes.
