Window Ware MD talks supply chain at major industry conference

The Managing Director of market-leading independent hardware distributor Window Ware has said that sharing supply chain experiences with industry peers has been hugely beneficial.

Sam Nuckey was among a stellar line-up of speakers debating the biggest issues facing the industry at the 2021 Glazing Summit, which took place at Edgbaston Stadium and Conference Centre.

She joined Paul Sullivan, MD of Anglo European, Dean Bradley, head of sales and marketing for Glazpart, and Guy Hubble, MD of RegaLead, on stage for the Conquering the Supply Chain Crisis debate.

Sam said: “In our industry, we build relationships as a natural part of doing business together, so being able to share experiences, ideas and concerns surrounding supply issues at the Glazing Summit really helps to feed into those closer working connections.”

“For Window Ware, the last year and a half has been all about assimilating the information available to us and making quick decisions, and I don’t think that’s going to change in the short term. Even if the challenges we face in the future are different, the unrelenting pace of change will most likely stay the same. So, as before, we just need to keep our eyes open and use everything we know to continue to make informed decisions that will allow us to exploit opportunities and minimise disruptions. The panel was useful in terms of reinforcing the message that it’ll just be more of the same going forward.”

It was the third time Window Ware, has supported the event, which attracted 400-plus leaders from across the glass and glazing industry – the biggest turnout since the Summit’s inception in 2018.

“The Glazing Summit is a fantastic opportunity to bring business leaders and industry experts together to discuss the current issues,” added Sam.

“There’s a lot of knowledge in the room and we definitely come away with information that helps support our decision making and the plans that we’re implementing as a business, so it’s always a key event in our diary.”
