Window Ware doubled fundraising effort in 2022

For the last 5 years now, leading fenestration hardware provider Window Ware has typically raised around £1.5K on average each year for its much-loved nominated local charity, Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice in Moggerhanger, Bedfordshire, which provides expert and compassionate palliative care for people living with life-limiting conditions, as well as support for their families.

Last year, however, they total smashed that figure by raising an impressive £3,022 – double the usual sum – and equivalent to around 143 hours of expert care for patients supported by Sue Ryder nurses, healthcare assistants, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, complementary therapists, social workers, and bereavement support workers.

There’s no doubt their hugely successful Valentine’s Day and National Hospice Care Week fundraisers, held on the 14th of February and 14th of October respectively, played a major role in helping them reach this record-breaking total. The events saw Window Ware donate £5 for every order placed that day, with customers rallying round to place their orders and boost donations. These two campaigns alone raised a mighty £2,295.

The rest was made up by a charity TV auction following a summer upgrade of boardroom equipment at Window Ware’s Bedford HQ and a team entry in the October Bedford 10K Starlight Hike.

Sam Nuckey, Window Ware’s MD explains, “Spiralling costs, rising demand, and a drop in public fundraising are putting huge pressure on hard-working charities like Sue Ryder which rely on charitable donations to continue their vital services. That’s why this amazing result couldn’t have come at a better time.”

Sam goes on to say, “We’re immensely proud to be able to support the first-class care that Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice provides, so thanks to all those who got involved or gave a donation and made our 2022 fundraising effort so successful!”

Charlotte Griggs, Community Fundraiser for Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice maintains, “We’re so grateful to Window Ware for continuing to support us over the last 12 months. They held some fantastic fundraisers in 2022 and raised an incredible amount of money, which will help us to be there when it matters for families going through the most difficult times of their lives. A sincere thank you Window Ware for all you do!”
