Specialising in providing high-quality PVCu and aluminium products to local authority building projects, and working closely with Birmingham City Council, Shelforce works with some of the city’s most vulnerable people, with 75% of our workforce disabled.

After an array of high-calibre entries this year, the independent judging panel were impressed with Shelforce’s strong staff development programme which has led to increased performance and record employee retention levels.

They have created an environment where individuals with a complex, diverse range of disabilities and challenges can maximise their potential and succeed through skilled employment and training, while significantly enriching lives and futures outside the workplace too.

Howard Trotter, Shelforce’s Business Manager, said: “Contributing to a much greater agenda than the manufacture of windows and doors is our social aims, and our continued success demonstrates what can be achieved by adopting an integrated, inclusive, approach to employment.

“We are so proud of our team and our development programme; our success is ultimately down to them. And it is amazing to have been recognised not once but twice by the GBCC Awards panel.”

The nominations are another fantastic achievement this year for Shelforce, who were also featured on ITV’s popular primetime show “Made In Britain” in April to demonstrate how sustainable windows are produced and tell our unique story.

The winners will be announced during a virtual Annual Awards Celebration on Tuesday 27th July from 7pm via live stream. The GBCC Awards, recognises the remarkable achievements of businesses across Greater Birmingham over the most challenging of 12 months.
