Ultraframe has reported a 43% year-on-year increase in sales for its Livinroof solid roof system, which continues to grow in popularity, despite the strong growth in the tiled roof market.

Commenting about the industry’s appetite for the contemporary grey and glazed hybrid roof system, Ultraframe Marketing Director, Alex Hewitt, said: “Much of the attention around solid roofs in recent years has been around tiled roofs, such as our Ultraroof system. They are extremely popular as they are the closest alternative, visually, to a traditionally built slate and timber roof. However, while tiled roofs have taken much of the ‘limelight’, our other solid roof system – Livinroof – has been quietly increasing in popularity and has recently hit a phenomenal 43% increase in sales vs this time last year.”

There are many reasons why Ultraframe believes that Livinroof has seen such dramatic growth. Based on the company’s original Glass Roof, Livinroof is familiar to surveyors and fitters and extremely simple to install. Available in almost any shape or size, Livinroof is the ideal choice for any style of extension, and with a pitch as low as 5°, can even be used for creating contemporary low pitch lean-to’s. Glass panels – including shaped glazing – can be integrated virtually anywhere into the design at no extra cost, giving natural light where needed and creating a stunning feature on the interior of the roof.

As with all Ultraframe systems, fitter-friendliness is at the heart of the system and Livinroof is no exception. A patented adjustable speedlock system optimises glazing bar compression, makes the roof simple to fit and ensures fast fit, first time, every time.

Explaining further, Alex said: “When you look at the many plus points of Livinroof, it’s no surprise that we have seen such tremendous growth from the system over the last 12 months. Many homeowners realised during the various lockdowns that they needed more space on their home and Livinroof is a fantastic way to achieve this. Its contemporary good looks, coupled with its many innovative features and class-leading performance make Livinroof an easy choice for installers and builders wanting to take advantage of the boom in home improvements. These same features also made it the perfect choice for us to use on our new range of Garden Rooms. While Livinroof can already achieve a fantastic U-Value of just 0.16, we are currently working to enhance its thermal performance even further to ensure it exceeds the changes to the Building Regulations which come into force in June.”

To support the growth of the system during the pandemic, Ultraframe ran a series of live webinars and training events to help Livinroof users understand more about the system and the support available, all of which are available to rewatch upon request on the company’s YouTube channel. One of Ultraframe’s new ‘explainer’ videos is also available to support new or prospective Livinroof users, with all the features and benefits of the roof clearly demonstrated.

Concluding, Alex said: “Livinroof is a fantastic option for any style of new extension, or for replacing a shaped conservatory roof on existing window frames. We are continuing to enhance the system and hope to see its popularity continue to grow.”
