Keylite Roof Windows (Keylite) has taken home the award for the “Best Use of Social Media in Service / B2B” at the 2023 Northern Ireland Social Media Awards for its Kick it with Keylite 2022 charity initiative in support of mental health awareness.
It’s reported that men in the UK and Northern Ireland are three times more likely to die by suicide than women. However, in construction – a male-dominated industry – men are three times more likely to die by suicide than the national average for men.
Irish-owned roof window manufacturer, Keylite, decided to play its part in combatting the stigma around mental health by supporting Mates in Mind, a leading charity that works to raise awareness within the construction sector and lead on the development of positive mental wellbeing within the workplace.
Keylite did this through its 2022 Kick it with Keylite campaign, which challenged the construction industry to ‘keep it up’. Encouraging merchants, trades and all those in the sector to record themselves doing as many keepie uppies as they can, share on social, donate to the charity and nominate a ‘mate in mind’ to get involved using the hashtag #KeepItUp.
2022 witnessed its best year yet for the Kick it with Keylite initiative, hosting over fifty pop-up events at builders’ merchants across the UK and Ireland, ‘keep it up’ videos posted across social media, and most importantly, £20,000 raised for such a vital charity.
