Installsure Expands Into Roofing Sector With New CompetentRoofer Partnership

Installsure, the division of the GGF Group dedicated to IBGs and commercial insurance schemes, has announced a new partnership with CompetentRoofer, the government-licenced Competent Person Scheme for roofing contractors.

The announcement brings together two of the most prominent organisations in the construction industry, and means that the 570 contractors operating under the CompetentRoofer banner now have access to Installsure’s market leading portfolio of insurance products.

The roofing sector’s equivalent to FENSA, CompetentRoofer is the only competent person scheme in the roofing industry. It allows contractors to self-certify work, saving time and money on jobs that would otherwise incur the delay and cost of a Building Control sign-off – for example, when more than 50% of a roof is refurbished, and local authorities are notified.

Through Installsure, CompetentRoofer contractors can now benefit from all the expertise afforded to FENSA members, and provide homeowner customers even greater peace of mind on the quality of their workmanship in the process.

Anda Gregory, Managing Director, Installsure, said: “Installsure is an established and highly respected IBG provider to the glazing industry and we’re delighted to expand into the roofing sector and partner with a like-minded, ambitious scheme in CompetentRoofer. The partnership is a natural fit for us both and we can’t wait to start working with CompetentRoofer and their contractors.

Tracie Hunter, General Manager, CompetentRoofer, commented:  “Our Competent Person Scheme is going from strength-to-strength and we are happy to announce that for the first time, contractors now have a choice over who they use as their IBG provider. We encourage all contractors to choose their new IBG provider before the launch on our new system in December.”

Irene Akpojaro, Operations Manager, Installsure, added: “Installsure has a huge amount of experience in working with CP schemes such as FENSA, and has enjoyed a record number of applications in 2020.

“We can bring that expertise to our partnership with CompetentRoofer. We’re really excited about how we can work together and provide CompetentRoofer contractors with a raft of industry leading insurance products.”
