Two of the window and door industry’s most respected brands have come together to launch a specification-leading residential door range, to be revealed for the first time at FIT Show. The Residence Door Collection by Apeer delivers a range of 20 door styles that have been curated to complement Residence Collection windows in terms of aesthetics, quality and performance, and built around a specification developed by leading composite door manufacturer Apeer, that is designed to future-proof the range.

Doors in general feature prominently within the FIT Show visitor ‘wish list’, with composite doors, internal doors, garage doors and fire doors all voted within the top ten. Other products that featured amongst the top include aluminium windows, aluminium systems, door hardware and furniture, tools, lanterns, adhesives and sealants.

FIT Show event director, Nickie West comments: “FIT Show has evolved significantly over the last decade. When we launched in 2013, UPVC windows were a mainstay of the visitor wishlist and this was reflected by the products presented by exhibitors. Over the years, the rosta of products at FIT Show has evolved to reflect the changing needs of the market. We now represent every material, from UPVC through to aluminium and timber, across the full product range, from rooflights and lanterns through to bifolds.

“It’s our responsibility as event organisers to enhance the show’s proposition to meet the needs of the market. We launched our new outdoor living feature to reflect increased consumer demand for decking, awnings and garden rooms. FIT Show 2023 will see an increased focus on rooflight and lanterns, another key area of growth for us.

“It’s interesting to see that doors have held steady at the top of the visitor shopping list for FIT Show and I’m delighted that we’re able to meet this demand with such a strong lineup of quality door providers across the full range of installer requirements – domestic and commercial, interior and exterior.”

Mennie Canada, one of the largest door producers in the world, is the leading supplier of glass reinforced plastic (GRP) doors in Canada. Mennie Canada will be making their FIT Show debut. Mark Williams comments: “We’re exhibiting at FIT Show so that we can present our Canadian designed composite door, which has proven itself in extreme weather. We want to give UK manufacturers an extra option to meet their needs.

The UK market is very important for our global strategy. FIT Show is the main platform that we have selected to introduce our product and open the market in the UK. We’re excited to exhibit here for the first time.”

Jennifer Tucker, marketing manager for Metador said: “As UK-based door manufacturers our vast range of bespoke security and fire-rated steel doors is ideal for those visiting FIT show and we are looking forward to meeting existing customers and potential new ones.

“We will be showcasing a number of our products including our Defender Thermaguard Technology, which is independently accredited to achieve a 1.5 U-Value, our Defender Xtreme – an LPS1175 accredited doorset, PASguard, our PAS24 rated doorset, plus our Defender Duopar – a 2-part frame door system with no visible fixings in a wood grain effect finish, amongst others.”

Returning exhibitor, Strongdor will be looking to build on their 2022 debut which results in £1m worth of quotations. Strongdor will be showcasing their new and improved fire-rated steel doors at FIT Show, alongside its market leading range of steel door solutions. Speaking about its FIT Show return, Strongdor marketing director, Sarah Cooper said: “We are seriously excited to get back to FIT Show and build on the success of our 2022 debut.

“We’ve worked extremely hard on our new product development over the last twelve months and have worked closely with our stand contractors to develop a concept that will showcase our range of products, engage visitors and drill home our product benefits.

“Those who dare to take on the ‘Panic or Escape’ room are in for a real treat. As well as learning more about Strongdor, meeting the team and our special guest Theodor, they could take home the top prize of a Milwaukee Cordless Combi Drill & Impact Driver!”
