Conservatory Transformation Case Study

Mr & Mrs Ratcliffe live in a beautiful, detached stone farmhouse in Yorkshire and had an existing hardwood conservatory which they decided to update with the latest in conservatory technology. Their aim was to create a fantastic modern new space in which to socialise and relax. Having used local company, Ryburne Windows, many times, and knowing that they would receive a fantastic level of customer service, they had no hesitation in turning to them for this latest, exciting project.

An Ultraframe roof was the perfect choice for this project which is in an exposed location almost 1000ft above sea level, as every Ultraframe roof is designed to withstand the worst possible wind and snow loads at the exact postcode of the installation. This means that no matter what the weather, an Ultraframe roof will stand up to the worst of it.

Explaining further about the conservatory transformation project, homeowner, David Ratcliffe, said: “Our old hardwood conservatory was in need of upgrading and after speaking to Ryburne Windows, they recommended an Ultraframe roof for our new design as they said they are the best on the market. We upgraded all of the windows, doors, and the roof from hardwood to the latest in PVCu technology and chose a beautiful agate grey colour, which blends perfectly with the stone of our home. The range of options available from Ultraframe was excellent and we chose a new Glass Roof with self-cleaning glass and a modern gable design above the French Doors.”

The views surrounding Mr & Mrs Ratcliffe’s home are nothing short of breathtaking, and so it’s no surprise to hear that their newly-upgraded conservatory has become the hub of their home – used as a garden room, an additional lounge, for breakfast dining, as well as a beautiful space in which to entertain.

The conservatory is furnished with sofas to relax on, along with an area for dining, and a stunning teal green Welsh dresser, which takes pride of place against the house wall. A neutral colour palette with splashes of colour that perfectly complement the agate grey finish of the roof and windows makes for a beautiful space with a calming feel that is perfectly suited to the host property.

Explaining how upgrading their conservatory has given the room a whole new lease of life, David concluded: “We absolutely love our new conservatory, and it has so many uses. It’s an extra socialising space, we use it to relax in, we entertain in here, and I can’t wait for summer when we’ll be using it all the time. It’s a very flexible space and we love how the roof is self-cleaning. It’s also a much warmer space than our previous conservatory. In addition to all of this, we have increased the value of our home – what’s not to like! We would definitely recommend Ultraframe systems to anyone else looking to transform an older conservatory like we did.”
