Insight Data has published its annual Window Industry Report, now established as the ‘must-read’ barometer for the UK window, door and conservatory industry.
The Report is the result of 6 months research with 15,000 fabricators and installers, outlining trends, new developments, industry changes and threats to the industry.
Insight Data’s Commercial Director, Helen Costeloe-Hughes comments;
“The industry is going through another transition. Trade Counters are disrupting the natural supply chain, opening up the market to 22,000 builders who are actively challenging existing installers. Elsewhere there have been a number of surprises, especially with aluminium, conservatories and composite doors.”
The Market Report points to changes across the entire industry, with detailed information on regional variations, installers, fabricators and products.
It also includes the Insight Top 30 – the UK’s top performing PVC-U fabricators by turnover and the top 30 by Net Worth.
“We’ve seen some big changes in the Top 30, and some really exciting developments in terms of overall industry growth. The Report makes fascinating reading” adds Helen.
Key facts from the Report include;
Number of PVC-U fabricators declined for another year
Aluminium now a serious challenger to PVC-U
Installers under threat from a new breed of ‘Builder Installers’
Rise of the ‘conservatory replacement’ market
Battle of the giants among the industry’s biggest companies
