Synseal fabricator and installer, DDG Windows Ltd, recently completed a school project a week ahead of schedule, providing pupils with an energy efficient and comfortable learning environment in time for the new term. St Bonaventures Catholic School in East London approached Dagenham-based DDG after receiving a glowing recommendation from nearby St Angela's Ursuline School, following a successful project there.

Synseal is updating its retail marketing brochures, and is asking window and conservatory customers for help with providing the photography.
Homeowners are being asked to submit digital photographs of their new vertical sliding sash windows or conservatory. If they are chosen by Synseal, we will arrange for a professional photographer to visit the premises, and hand over £100 in Marks and Spencer vouchers as a ‘thank you’.

Although there isn’t a relevant category in the Guinness Book of Records, Synseal believes that it has set some kind of record by setting up a new fabricator to make frames just eight days after the initial phone call to the company. Jim Churchill of Rotherham-based JWC Windows Ltd decided to approach Synseal as his chosen system supplier and, after a conversation with Synseal Chief Executive David Leng, produced his first frame using Synseal’s Synergy suite just over a week later.

Quickslide, the UK’s biggest manufacturer of vertical sliding windows, has installed a third Schirmer machining centre as part of the company’s ongoing strategy to boost capacity. Installation of the Schirmer SU1 Frame and Mullion Cutting and Machining Centre, which is widely regarded as the finest machine of its type, will increase production output, as demand has been strong for its casement windows, on the way to a 60% plus increase in sales of this style in the current financial year.

Northwich Glass is the latest company to buy SGG PLANITHERM TOTAL+ glass and join the Saint-Gobain Glass PLANITHERM Network.

The Association of Composite Door Manufacturers (www.acdm.co.uk) has welcomed the launch of Door Energy Ratings but condemned the controversy surrounding its introduction. Ben Penson, Chairman of the ACDM whose members produce an estimated 80% of the composite doors sold in the UK, said that whilst DERs will provide an ideal purchasing guide for homeowners, the controversy surrounding the introduction of the scheme should have been avoided.
