The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) has issued its Formal Response to the Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation (ECO) Consultation to the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC). To reach the final version of its Formal Response, the GGF held three Green Deal Debates in Birmingham, Stirling and London, to ensure all members’ views were considered.

As GM Fundraising enters its 16th year, the glazing industry’s preferred charity looks set to continue with a number of new charity events already being worked on for 2012 and 2013. To date the charity has raised over £830,000 through Chairman Gary Morton and ably supported by a small number of committed volunteers, most of which are from the glazing and associated industries. To be exact, an astonishing £726,235.66 has been raised for Hope House Children’s Hospices with the ‘great hope’ of breaking the £1million

VEKA plc is set to double its presence at Fensterbau when it returns to the international event this year. The system supplier is taking twice the floorspace for its second showing at Nürnberg on March 21-24 on the strength of its debut there in 2010. Sales & Marketing Director Colin Torley said: “The show has proved itself to be the main event for the UK industry. It was a great success for us last time and now we aim to build on that in 2012.”

The Court of Appeal met at 9.30 this morning to decide the fate of the UK solar industry, gathering to make a decision on whether to grant the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) a hearing for its appeal against the High Court’s December ruling on UK solar feed-in tariffs.

VEKA fabricator Andrew Wright Windows has recently completed an exciting contract with Dundee City Council; using the Infinity suite of recycled profiles for the replacement of 124 windows in council houses in the area. The VEKA Infinity profile, containing up to 80% recycled content, the only profile tested to BS EN12608, along with other outstanding attributes, was the perfect choice to meet the high specification required by Dundee City Council for its replacement window contracts.
