UAP TradeLocks have had a positive start to the New Year with a new addition to the team in the form of accomplished locksmith, Warren Rockley. Warren, who has over ten years’ experience in all areas of locksmithing and who has run his own successful locksmith company in Stoke, has joined UAP TradeLocks to take charge of the day to day running of the locksmith supplies division of the company.

The VEKA UK Group rounded off 2012 with four awards collected within the space of just a few weeks. VEKA Sales and Marketing Director Colin Torley believes this is a good representation, not only of excellent product quality, but also of how hard the entire team has worked this year: “The last few months have thrown up several reasons for the team here at VEKA to celebrate. Most recently, we've collected a G12 award for 'Energy Efficiency Initiative of the Year', a trophy for 'Environmental Innovation' at the Lancashire Business Environment Awards and the award for 'Deal of the Year' at the Lancashire Telegraph Business Awards.

Synseal Extrusions recently won a bronze award for Environmental Best Practice at the Green Apple Awards presented at the House of Commons. Synseal was recognised for successfully achieving its objective of reducing its landfill waste to zero. “This was an ambitious environmental objective for a high volume PVC-U extrusion company, due to the very nature of wastes that are produced on site,” the company said in its submission statement.

Saint-Gobain Glass UK Ltd has announced the appointment of Andy Hyde as Sales & Marketing Director, heading the company’s sales and marketing teams and reporting to UK Managing Director Pierre Lucien-Brun. Based at the Eggborough, Yorkshire float plant Andy brings with him almost 20 years of sales, marketing and specification marketing experience in building products. His former roles were with British Gypsum and more recently insulation manufacturer Isover, both part of the Saint-Gobain Group.
