VEKA plc has declared its second Fensterbau even better that 2010, with a visibly bigger UK audience for its new group product offering. The Nürnberg event was the first major showing for the VEKA’s extended range since last year’s acquisition and Sales & Marketing Director Colin Torley said the show made a superb platform for the debut:

Following on from its acquisition of Bowater Building Products last year, industry-leading VEKA has unveiled four new vehicles advertising the joint branding. The new vehicle liveries, designed to promote both the VEKA and Halo brands - the window brand of Bowater - will add to the already extensive energy-efficient fleet, with the new design set to be rolled out across every vehicle as and when then curtains need updating.

Long-standing VEKA customer Anders Glass has completed an impressive school installation, replacing all 80 windows at Chorlton Park Primary School. Built in 1920, Chorlton Park is Manchester's largest primary school and has the windows to match! Each window unit is around 2.6m x 2.1m and had to be replaced during school holidays to minimise disruption to pupils.

VEKA customer and long-standing Network VEKA member Westpark Windows has welcomed Michelle Mason as the company's new Sales Manager. A familiar face in the window industry, Michelle has been involved in this sector for more than a decade and a half. She explains: “I started in the PVC-U industry in 1996 with a role at my father's company 'Trade Frames Direct' in Colne, Lancashire. We fabricated VEKA's Matrix system for around 12 years and I have a good knowledge of all the VEKA profile suites and components.

Mighton Products have appointed four new members of staff to support the company’s continued growth in the UK and overseas markets for their range of sash and casement window hardware. Kelly Kemp joins Mighton as sales office manager to oversee the company’s pro-active sales strategy, along with managing the sales ordering process. Reporting to Kelly is new internal sales executive Jenny Cox, who will be dealing with product enquiries and telesales.

Network VEKA founder member Sash Windows in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, is having a double celebration – 20 years in business and co-founder Alan Cosgrove’s 65th birthday. Roto speaks of “almost perfect results” in a current review of the “fensterbau/frontale” trade fair. As the specialist for window and door technology reports, the “climate” registered throughout the over 800 sqm stand in Hall 1 was a perfectly match to the picture-book weather outside during the four-day industry trade fair. In addition, the central motto “Close to the customer” was not only convincingly demonstrated, it could well be taken literally.
