When Hurricane Sandy almost completely destroyed a New Jersey homeowners' conservatory, it was Network VEKA and New York-based Hampton Conservatories, LLC to the rescue! Homeowner Susan Jannucci used a local company which is now out of business, to create her conservatory in 2004, that was built using VEKA plc profile.

Solidor recently entered a team into the feared Tough Guy Challenge, which is promoted as the safest, most dangerous event in the world and featured barbed wire, thick ice and even mild electrocution! While most of the industry look at more typical challenges, Gareth Mobley and his Solidor team have raised the bar considerably. The industry-leading trade organisation has kicked off a number of MTC (Minimum Technical Competence) seminars for its Assure members, with fantastic turnouts at Manchester City Football Club, Leeds Tenants Enterprise Centre and Dunston Hall at Norwich. Over 60 delegates attended the Manchester seminar on 15th January, with a further 30 at Leeds on 22nd January and almost 20 at Dunston Hall on 29th January; all part of a series of seminars being held across the UK for its Assure members.

Much has been said and many claims made over the strength or otherwise of composite doors. Indeed, there’s one company claiming that a GRP composite door collapses in a shower of polyurethane foam with a few good knocks with a police issue ‘Enforcer’. Well, it’s certainly not the case with Distinction’s Nan Ya GRP composite door.
