Saint-Gobain Glass was used in Teambuild, a fast-paced contest in which young construction professionals solved a real-life construction challenge to scoop a £1,500 top prize and a total of £4,600 in prize money. Saint-Gobain Group sponsored the event, which aims to promote understanding and co-operation between young professionals in the construction industry. Now in its twentieth year Teambuild attracts teams from some of the best construction firms around the UK and Ireland.

Network VEKA is one of 33 national organisations to be chosen for assessment under the Green Deal initiative. The announcement comes from UKAS, which will now assess all the bodies on behalf of the Department of Energy and Climate Change before the launch of the Government initiative later in 2012.

Eclectic Systems is a newly formed bespoke systems house, which has been established to develop specific products for niche, heritage markets. Headed up by Dan Gill, managing director of sister company Window Widgets, this venture has just invested £1.2m in the new Residence 9 window and door system.
