Following on from Kömmerling’s recently held PassivHaus Workshop at their head office in Lichfield to a panel of customers, there’s been an increase in enquiries from existing customers and specifiers. The workshop was originally intended to show off the latest developments in their product portfolio and to introduce some of the German engineering philosophies in product design.

Weathershield has achieved ISO 9001 (2008) accreditation in recognition of its quality management system, BS 7412 in recognition of its commitment to quality in the manufacturing process and BS 7950 in certification of the product being manufactured to an enhanced security performance.

VEKA customer Glaze4trade and Network VEKA member Delta Plastics have won the contract to supply and install the windows on a new-build housing estate in Dorset. The unusual part? It is the largest 'passive housing' estate in the UK. Earlier this month, plastics industry representatives from across the world, including the BPF, met in Dubai to create a global action plan for solutions on marine litter. This action plan describes actions to be taken and progress to be reported by signatories in 2012. Around 100 projects have been identified, which will be carried out in 32 countries, in addition to the global activities supported by all signatories.
