The GGF had “mixed feelings” after Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, announced his 2014 Budget.
The Budget promised a raft of positive measures for SMEs, manufacturers and exporters but the Federation felt the Chancellor could have done more to support the recovery in the construction industry and in particular the need to improve the energy efficiency of the UK’s building stock.

Following the GGF’s recent press release “GGF Members Quiz BIS”, the Federation submitted its evidence to the Parliamentary Public Bill Committee on 12th February 2014, allowing plenty of time for the 21 MPs who sit on the Committee to consider the GGF’s concerns. The evidence submitted and the contents of the Bill will be reviewed right up to the 13th March 2014 when the Committee will meet to discuss and consider all the issues raised before the Bill is enacted later this year.

Historically, hard coat Low E glass has been known to have a slight brown colour distortion with an element of haze when viewed from particular angles, as the sun’s light catches the coated surface. Guardian’s new ClimaGuard DS is an offline, magnetron sputter-coated Low E glass, which offers similar attributes to its hard coat Low E rival, without the brown colour distortion or issue relating to haze.
